Terms of Use.
Last updated 12 July 2026
These terms govern your use of LimeLight, an online marketplace operated by LimeLight Marketplace, Trinidad & Tobago ("LimeLight", "we", "us"). By browsing the site, placing an order, or opening a shop, you agree to them.
What LimeLight is
LimeLight is a place to discover Caribbean makers and small businesses. Buyers place orders and booking requests on LimeLight, and the seller fulfils them directly. WhatsApp is there for questions and for keeping in touch with the maker — it is not where the order is taken. We are a listings and ordering service — not a shop, a courier, or a bank.
Every sale on LimeLight is a contract between the buyer and the seller. LimeLight is not a party to that sale, does not take custody of any goods, and does not process payment. We do not charge commission on sales; sellers pay only for their subscription plan.
How an order works
A product order runs: order placed, awaiting transfer, proof of payment uploaded, seller confirms payment received, out for delivery, delivered. If no proof of payment is uploaded within 72 hours, the order is cancelled automatically and any reserved stock is released. Delivery is priced by the seller per zone (North-West, North & East, Central, South, Tobago) with free pickup where the seller offers it; the delivery cost is added to the total shown before you order.
A service booking runs: booking request, seller quotes, buyer pays a deposit (usually 50%) by transfer and uploads proof, seller confirms, booked, completed. Deposits tied to a fixed event date — Carnival, for example — may be marked non-refundable by the seller, and that is shown before you pay.
Payments are made directly to the seller
Prices are set by each seller and shown in their local currency (for example TT$, BB$, J$, or EC$). Payment is made directly to the seller — typically by local bank transfer to a Trinidad & Tobago account (such as Republic Bank or First Citizens) or another method the seller offers. A seller's bank details are never public: they are shown only to a buyer with an active order, and only where that seller has chosen to share them.
Because LimeLight never holds or moves your money, we cannot issue refunds, reverse a transfer, or guarantee any transaction. Buyers should confirm price, delivery, and payment details with the seller, and keep their own records. Sellers are responsible for delivering what they promised. Where an order goes wrong, either side can raise a dispute and our team will review it, but we cannot compel a refund.
Buyer responsibilities
Treat sellers respectfully, provide accurate delivery information, and pay for what you agree to buy. Only send payment once you are comfortable with the seller and the arrangement. If something goes wrong, contact the seller first; we will help where we reasonably can, but we cannot force a resolution.
Seller responsibilities
Sellers must describe listings honestly, keep pricing and stock accurate, respond to buyers in good time, and fulfil confirmed orders. Sellers are responsible for their own tax, business registration, and any consumer or product regulations that apply to what they sell. A separate Seller Agreement covers this in more detail.
Reviews and content
Buyers can leave reviews to share their honest experience. Do not post false, abusive, or misleading content, and do not attempt to manipulate ratings. Sellers can report a review they believe breaks these rules; our team reviews reports and may hide or remove content that does. We may remove any content or listing that violates these terms or the law.
Acceptable use
Do not use LimeLight to sell prohibited or illegal items, to defraud anyone, to scrape the site, or to interfere with its operation. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules or that put buyers, sellers, or the platform at risk.
Limitation of liability
LimeLight is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by Trinidad & Tobago law, we are not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from transactions between buyers and sellers, from goods bought or sold, or from payments made directly between users. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as LimeLight grows. When we make significant changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let users know. Continuing to use LimeLight after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of its courts.
